I live in Sioux Falls, SD but am trying to get close to my Kids & Grandkids in AZ. I’ve applied for voucher & put on waiting list here for apts, but I don’t want to stay in SD, I want to be near my kid. I was told by my neighbor that once a voucher is received that ì can use it anywhere. Is this true?Ty!
Hi Bev, YES! Section 8 vouchers are valid nationwide. However, you will need to follow the rules and regulations of the local housing authority where you plan to use the voucher. That probably won’t happen right away, though. Again, contact the housing authority where you plan to move to learn about their Section 8 voucher requirements and procedures.
